Dear members,
You’re warmly invited to join us on Sunday 21st October at 10am for a special Greens members’ event focusing on river health.
We’ll be visiting a former cane farm in Swan Bay where the landowner, in partnership with WWF, is transforming the site by planting native species and restoring floodplain ecosystems. The project is already registered to generate Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) – a powerful example of how ecological restoration can also support climate solutions and local livelihoods.
This is a rare opportunity to see first-hand how regeneration on our floodplains can improve the health of the Richmond River, while also helping to build a more sustainable future for our region.
After the tour, we’ll gather in Woodburn Riverside Park for a relaxed BBQ lunch – a chance to connect with fellow members, share ideas, and enjoy each other’s company.
📍 When: Sunday 19th October, 10am
📍 Where: Meet on site at Swan Bay farm (details and directions provided on RSVP) or 12 noon on Woodburn Riverside Park
Please BYO food to share. BBQs are available to cook.
👉 Please RSVP by Monday 13th October so we can confirm numbers.
Together, we can learn, connect, and be inspired by the possibilities of restoration and regeneration in our own backyard.
In solidarity,
Kiri Dicker
